Swine Flu vaccination is now underway. This vaccine is targeted at the following groups of patients:
front line health care workers
anyone from 6 months of age or older with an underlying health condition eg Asthma, COPD, Heart Disease, Hypertension, Kidney Disease, Liver Disease, Diabetes, Immune Deficiency etc
pregnant women (they will be vaccinated at their hospital antenatal clinic)
household contacts of those with low immunity
The vaccine is extremely safe. Most patients will require only one dose but children under 10 years will require two doses 3 weeks apart.
We will contact elligible patients by letter when supplies of the vaccine are available.
